wave upon wave
year upon year
generation upon generation
seasons upon seasons
eons upon eons
a drop of rain
then two
multiplying exponentially
greet the ocean
keepers of the wisest wisdoms
graceful in their travel home.
Gloriously predictable,
Mother selflessly shapes a nest,
selectively chooses a one in a million mate.
a grain of sand, then two, then many,
become the instruments
for our songs and dance with serenity and peace.
