Lyrics – Finder of Lost Things

Finder of Lost Things – Mary M, Bill Jacobson © 2019

Lonely were the valleys and empty were the streams
The mountain gods lay waiting for the finder of lost things
They sought ’em down the corridors of half forgotten time
They asked the winds of distant lands, and sought ’em in the mines

In the depths of silence and in their heart of dreams
The mountain gods kept yearning for this finder of lost things
They did not dare to speak a name, though there were some who could
They brooded dark and distant thoughts, they prayed for something good

Lonely were the valleys and empty were the streams
Silent were the mountain gods in the vastness of their dreams
time was lost, time was found, time slipped by unseen
Lonely were the valleys, empty were the streams

A god rose up at dawn and gazed across the land
He saw the rosy morning light; he saw the empty sand
He breathed a dream that had no end, he peopled it with life
He filled the mountain streams with fish, he sang till all was right

I bring to you, the god cried out, this finder of lost things
Lost love, lost joy, lost knowledge, lost water in our streams
This being wild and pure as light, and diamond quick as rain
To change your hearts from pain to peace and bring you joy again

joyful were the valleys happy were the streams
peaceful were the mountain gods in the vastness of their dreams
time was lost time was found time slipped by unseen
joyful were the mountains happy were the streams

Heart and hand, mind and voice, Are never out of reach
every day we act as one, We bring this world some ease
Together we’re the finders, of every thing left behind
Everyday we act as one, we live our lives in peace

joyful are the valleys happy are the streams
peaceful are the mountain gods in the vastness of their dreams
time was lost time was found time slipped by unseen
joyful are the mountains happy are the streams
