CIRCLES & CYCLES
HANDCRAFTED IN NORTHPORT, MI
A restorative salve made from Japanese Indigo. At the heart of this formula is Indirubin, the red-violet phytochemical found in Indigo leaves. Indirubin has been studied for its anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and immunomodulatory actions, and is known to support the skin’s natural barrier while helping calm visible irritation and reactivity.
“Samurai Blue” comes from historical use in Japan. During the Edo period, samurai are said to have worn indigo saturated cotton beneath their armor to help support wound healing and protect the skin.
This salve is the result of a 6-month seed-to-skin process using fresh indigo leaves grown in my garden. The leaves are fermented into a powder extract, then transformed into a deeply colored, indirubin-rich infusion. The final salve is designed to soothe irritation, support the skin barrier, and bring the skin back into balance through whole-plant, time-intensive extraction.
Apply to irritated, wounded skin as needed.

Most C&C products are best used within 1 year for maximum potency & efficacy. Because our products are packaged in violet glass and formulated for stability with natural ingredients, they are designed to maintain their integrity throughout their intended shelf life when stored properly. We recommend using your senses (look, smell, and texture) to assess freshness over time.
From seed to formulation, each product begins in the garden and is then extracted and crafted in our Lab/Production Space, just steps away from where it’s grown.
